First Trial Fit

Trying the engine on for size... Oops, there's a problem here and there! But it does look promising!

The driver's side - lot's of clearance out front! Let's look at the motor mount area now...

This one's a little bigger so you can examine things... note that the pan clearance is ample, and the motor mount bracket straddles the Mercedes motor mount! Oops, that shock has to go...

Here's the passenger side of things. Although you can't see it in this picture, the starter motor is too close to the idler arm pivot mount, so I cut the mount and moved it 1/4" closer to the frame rail. I welded a second pipe inside the original to add strength to this very important item, so it's now stronger than it was before. (It's the pipe looking thing that extends under the left manifold from the inner fender area.) I had removed the battery box, the water tank, the water pipe from the aux heater pump, and sealed the a/c lines whilst cleaning. I found some corrosion under the battery box, so I treated the metal and resealed the area.
